When you are dealt 2 cards, it is your turn to either call the bet made by the player to their left, raise the current bet, or drop out of the pot (fold). Once the flop is dealt, another card is then dealt face up on the table. Then a 4th round of betting occurs. This is often the last chance for players to make a strong hand.
Bluffing is an integral part of the game, but as a beginner you should be careful about it. It can be difficult to get the timing of your bluffs correct, and it is also hard to judge relative hand strength if you’re just starting out. As a beginner, you should focus on raising and folding your hands to maximize the chances of winning. This will help you gain experience more quickly than attempting to bluff every hand.
